In June 2020, the French Development Agency FDA (AFD) and the ESIF (FIAS) signed an agreement in order to provide technical assistance to the government of Ecuador in the implementation of the National Plan for Climate Change Mitigation Project. This project will be in charge of the construction of the National Transition Plan towards Decarbonization; first public policy instrument that will determine routes for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the second half of the 21st century, focusing mainly on the priority sectors established in the National Strategy for the Climate Change of Ecuador.
